Watch this short video on RIN Pricing and Economics
Please watch this short video to see the diagram that underlies the ATTRACTOR Renewable Identification Number (RIN) Price Model and the calculation of D4T, the world’s first licensed theoretical value of an environmental credit, which is available with weekly updates to Bloomberg Terminal subscribers.
Coming Soon
This video foreshadows what underlies Hoekstra Research Report 12, Renewable Fuel Market Model, this year’s annual report, which will be released Oct.31, 2024.
It includes a fundamental economic model of the full U.S. fuel system that calculates theoretical values of the flow rates and prices of all fuels and all RINs flowing through the system.
As with the current ATTRACTOR model, we did not invent this “full blown” RIN price model. We found it in published literature and PhD dissertations, and applied it in easy-to-use spreadsheet form for commercial users.
Recommendation Get Hoekstra Research Report 10
It includes the ATTRACTOR spreadsheet which calculates D4T, the theoretical value of a D4 RIN, using economic fundamentals. Hoekstra Trading clients use the ATTRACTOR spreadsheet to compare theoretical and market Renewable Identification Number (RIN) prices, analyze departures from theoretical value, and identify trading opportunities on the premise RIN market prices will be attracted toward their fundamental economic values.
Get the Attractor spreadsheet, it is included with Hoekstra Research Report 10 and is available to anyone at negligible cost.
